K-Beauty Haul + Review

Long time no talk, eh? Sorry loves. I've been terribly busy on top of being horribly unmotivated. But I am back and ready to talk beauty! I went to Dallas in February for my first ever k-pop concert, which could be an entire blog post in itself because oh my LORD, and I did a bit of shopping. Dallas has a small Koreatown that I thought I would pop into because I've heard nothing but amazing things about k-beauty. So let's take a peek at what I picked up!

Banila Co. Clean It Zero
Let's talk about this first. I actually didn't get this during my trip in Dallas, I ordered it off Amazon. But A) it's Korean and B) I'm obsessed so I needed to include it. On of my favorite YouTubers, imjennim, has raved about this product and I can see why! It's a cleansing oil that basically melts all of your makeup off. Seriously. This stuff makes my waterproof mascara disintegrate. You just rub it all over your face, melt off all your makeup, and then rinse it off with water.
As an oily/acne prone girl I was a little hesitant to purchase this because I figured adding oil to my face would just make my life worse, right? Nope! It doesn't leave any oily residue on my face and I haven't experienced any increase in my acne. This ONE product can take the place of my eye makeup remover, makeup remover towelettes, and micellar water so I'll definitely be repurchasing. And it comes with a little scooper so you're not contaminating the rest of the product with dirty fingers!

Jeju Volcanic Lava Pore Mud Pack

We popped into The Faceshop for a look-around and I was really intrigued by this product. Volcanic lava? On my face? It's actually said to contain volcanic clay from the Jeju Province located on Korea's largest island, Jejudo. It's supposed to control excess amounts of sebum, remove dust & impurities from the skin, and is full of rich minerals to help give the look of healthy skin. You just apply it all over your face, let it dry for about 10 - 15 minutes, and then wash off with lukewarm water. I've only used this about three times since I got it because I've been cycling through tons of other products but I've enjoyed it so far! I haven't seen any major changes in my skin but it does leave my face feeling nice and soft after each use.

Tony Moly Pocket Bunny Sleek Mist

Ok, I had a moment in the Tony Moly store lemme tell you honey. I went awf. Tony Moly wins hands down in the packaging department. Everything is so incredibly cute! And they have such a wide array of beauty products to choose from. This adorable little bunny caught my eye because I remember having seen it on Urban Outfitters website. It's an oil-controlling face mist that helps control excessive oil production. I like to use this halfway through my work day. Just a little refresher after a busy lunch rush to help snap me back to reality and also help keep my makeup lasting throughout the rest of my shift.

Tony Moly Magic Food Banana Hand Milk
Alright, everyone always thinks I'm carrying around a baby toy when I have this on me, but I honestly don't care because at least I'm not walking around with alligator hands. I work in the food business so I'm constantly washing my hands, and boy does that suck the living life out of mis manos friends lemme tell ya. So during my trip that was one thing I definitely wanted to pick up, a little lotion for my purse. This is honestly the BEST smelling lotion of my life. It smells SO strongly of banana and I'm obsessed. The banana extract & milk protein helped bring my crusty, dusty hands back from the grave.
Tony Moly Petite Bunny Gloss Bar
LOOK AT ALL THE CUTE OMG. Isn't this the cutest lipgloss you've ever seen? Okay, it's not necessarily a lipgloss. It doesn't leave your lips feeling sticky. It's kind of like a moisturizing tinted lip balm. It gives your lips a little bit of a glossy effect and for this shade in particular, #8 Neon Yellow, a subtle pink color. Which is a trip because when you twist up the product, the actual balm is the same shade as the tube. But once it hits your lips and reacts with your body temperature it changes color. How magical. If I remember correctly there are 9 shades in total, all with different adorable faces.
Tony Moly Peach Hand Cream
Another God send hand cream with an invigorating scent. These lotions are so intoxicatingly fragrant it makes you want to constantly keep apply them. This one is actually supposed to be anti-aging. It contains peach extract to moisturize and nourish; shea butter to soften rough skin and supply deep nutrition; and apricot to soften and elasticize. On top of that, the packaging is adorable so I keep it out on my nightstand for some added cuteness. This also has a much thicker consistency than the Banana Hand Milk so it's extra moisturizing. Happy hands.
Face Masks
I have quite a small collection here from various places. I picked up the Clean Face Sebum Control Soothing Mask from The Faceshop in Dallas, the cute Strawberry Seed 3-step Nose Pack and the Pureness 100 Placenta Mask from Tony Moly, the Pearl Mask from Marshall's in a town close to mine, and the Nature Republic EXO Gold Snail Hydrogel Mask Sheet that I literally die over every time I look at it was actually a Christmas present from my lovely friend Lauren (hi bby ). Now for me, all of these face masks look and feel the exact same except for the 3-step blackhead pack. They all claim to do different things, but they feel pretty much the same. The sheets come out very moist, almost slimy, coated in product and when you put them on you low-key look like Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The directions normally say to leave the mask on anywhere from 10 - 20 minutes and then afterwards you just pat the excess product into your skin. I absolutely love how these make my skin feel afterwards.

Now, with the 3-step blackhead clearing pack it was a bit different. You first apply a plain cotton nose strip that's supposed to melt the sebum and blackheads in your pores. The second step is to apply a more sticker like strip to the nose and wait for it to become dry. Once it is you rip that shit off as well as all the blackheads out of your nose. The 3rd step is a pore tightening gel strip that's supposed to soothe the area that you just brutally ripped shit out of. And that's all! Highly recommend that one, it did an incredible job of getting rid of my pesky blackheads.
And that was all of the Korean beauty products I picked up you guys! I hope you enjoyed my little reviews and that they encourage you to delve into the k-beauty side of cosmetics and skincare. They have a lot of really intriguing things in the most adorable packaging.

I'll catch y'all in the next one. Love you ~~~
xoxo, Danielle

  1. Hello Danielle! I absolutely adore you and your youtube channel. I finally found my way here to your blog ( yay! ) and I was curious if you had any suggestions for someone of mixed complexion when it comes to skin care? I prefer using Korean Beauty Products, currently. Not just the hype, but the actual extent at which they help my skin is fantastic. I'm not the best when it comes to make-up wearing, and it's almost tedious for me, given I work in fast food. Being mixed complexion, that just adds to the hassle. I usually try and order my products from Amazon, but feel they don't have as diverse a selection as any other place? Would you know of any solid websites to order from?
Thanks so much if you catch this comment. ( Gosh, didn't realize how long it was. Sorry! )
